Hopefully this will have been balanced with blissful experiences, such as joy, wellbeing and happiness; even financial gains. All our life experiences happen for a reason, they are necessary for our development, they form part of our character. To really gain knowledge we may have to face similar situations over and over again and each time we will gain something from them, even if we don’t recognise it immediately. What we don’t realise is that each life experience whether large or small happy or sad has its own ‘use by date’. This is the date when the emotional memory of the experience is no longer needed. All the knowledge should have been learned by this date and if not, then life will create another situation for us to learn from, and so the process goes on. Some people find it easy to dispose of emotional memories that they feel are out dated. They have a natural intuitive instinct for this and show very little sign of emotional stress. For most of us this is not so easy. We unconsciously choose to hold onto the emotional experiences life has given us. Unfortunately this happens far too often, especially with unhappy memories. Eventually we become overloaded with emotional baggage and in doing so we make ourselves ill, mentally and physically.
